Minimum Units Required: 0.0 units

A sequence of creative and technical courses designed to prepare students for self-employment and employment in photography and related areas. The coursework will give students the skills to enter a broad spectrum of photographic fields, e.g., advertising, illustration, industrial, portraiture, fine art, commercial, photojournalism, and landscape. Career opportunities are strongest for self-employment, but entry level jobs in assisting, retail, post-production and marketing are also possible. Skills gained in this program are also valuable in related fields such as video production, graphic design, journalism, and social media management. The Certificate of Completion can be obtained by completing 512-576 contact hours of coursework. Students may also continue with other photography coursework, and it is possible to later convert passing level work into credits through CPL (Credit for Prior Learning).
