"markdown": "**Minimum Units Required:** 24.0 units\n\nThe focus of the Certificate in Data Science is to introduce students to the tools, methods, and conceptual approaches used to support modern data analysis and decision-making in professional and applied research settings. The pre-requisite skills that are required to enter this program are limited to high-school level algebra and trigonometry; there are no other specific requirements. To earn the Data Science Certificate of Achievement, students must complete 24 units within the major with a minimum grade of C or P if taken on a Pass/No Pass basis.\n\n### Program Learning Outcomes\n\n- Students will effectively use modern programming languages such as Python and R to visualize and model large varieties and volumes of data\n\n- Students will execute analyses of large and disparate datasets and construct models necessary for these analyses\n\n- Students will possess a solid theoretical understanding of classical statistical models and data science techniques\n\n### Program Requirements"
