### TUTR 050 — Tutoring Practicum

- **Units:** 0.5
- **Hours:** 0.5 hours lecture weekly, 9 contact hours total
- **Prerequisite:** Completion with a minimum grade of B in the subject to tutor, instructor recommendation, and permission of Tutoring Center personnel after verifying prerequisites.
- **Corequisite:** Must be concurrently assigned as a Tutoring Center or in-class tutor.
- **Transfers to:** CSU
- **Offered:** not on the Spring 2026 schedule

This course provides supervised practice in tutoring, examines the basics of learning principles, communication, listening skills, effective tutoring techniques and is required for all students who work or volunteer in the Tutoring Center.

### TUTR 500 — Supervised Tutoring

- **Units:** 0
- **Hours:** 1 hours lab weekly, 18 contact hours total
- **Prerequisite:** Recommendation by the course instructor or a counselor or permission of the TUTR 500 instructor of record.
- **Corequisite:** Concurrent enrollment in course or courses in which tutoring assistance is being requested.
- **Offered:** not on the Spring 2026 schedule
- Not transferable

This course provides students tutorial support with instructional aids and student tutors to develop learning skills that enhance classroom achievement. In addition, Critical Skills for College Success Workshops are offered in many instructional areas. Tutor-supported computer labs are provided for academic use. Open entry/Open exit, ungraded.
