"markdown": "#### Overview\n\nThe Associate in Science in Nutrition and Dietetics for Transfer is designed for prospective California State University (CSU) transfer students who are preparing for careers in the field of Nutrition and Dietetics such as a Registered Dietitian (RD), Nutritionist, Licensed Nutritionist and Dietetic Technician Registered (DTR) to name a few. Completion of the Nutrition and Dietetics degree will provide a streamlined pathway for transfer to a CSU campus with a Nutrition Science or similar major. Students should consult with a counselor to determine whether or not this degree is the best option for their transfer goals. General education requirements should be selected carefully based on the intended transfer institution. There are UC unit limitations with Chemistry courses; please see a counselor for details if you are pursuing transfer to the UC system\n\n#### Program Learning Outcome(s)\n\nUpon completion of this program, students will be able to:\n\n1. Acquire knowledge to develop health promotion and disease prevention programs that address diverse populations within a community (such as ethnicity, cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic status, and regional resources).\n2. Critically evaluate factors influencing obesity, and the metabolic consequences of obesity, as it relates to chronic disease.\n3. Evaluate personal energy and nutrient requirements, along with the nutrient density of various food sources, using current dietary assessment tools.\n\n#### Completion Requirements\n\n1. Completion of 60 semester units or 90 quarter units that are eligible for transfer to the California State University, including both of the following:\n 1. The California General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC).\n 2. A minimum of 18 semester units or 27 quarter units in a major or area of emphasis, as determined by the community college district.\n2. Obtainment of a minimum grade point average of 2.0. Associate Degrees for Transfer (ADT’s) also require that students must earn a \"C\" (or \"P\") or better in all courses required for the major or area of emphasis.\n\n##### **Nutrition and Dietetics (AS-T): Program Requirements**"
