"markdown": "#### Overview\n\nLas Positas College offers short-term, tuition free, and noncredit courses in the safe operation of drones and Unoccupied Aerial Systems (UAVs). Our program focuses on mission planning, basic flight operations, and the legal framework (local, state, and federal). Our courses are taught in a sequential series with the first course, NAVI 201, focusing on fundamental piloting skills. Students have the option of choosing an emphasis on Photography/Videography with NAVI 202A or developing their Mapping/Survey skills with NAVI 202B. The final course, NAVI 203, prepares students to take the FAA Part 107 exam. A student receives a Drone Photography, Mapping, and Piloting Certificate of Completion when NAVI 201 and 203 are completed in addition to NAVI 202A/B courses. These courses are open to all with no prerequisite experience or equipment and are geared more toward gaining direct user experience. This is a creative starting point to using drones in multiple disciplines and careers.\n\n#### Program Learning Outcome(s)\n\nUpon completion of this program, students will be able to:\n\n1. Collect aerial imagery in a purposeful manner that results in a professional report and/or presentation.\n2. Safely operate common Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), more commonly referred to as drones.\n3. Students will have skills necessary to pass the FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certification test.\n\n##### **Drone Photography, Mapping, and Piloting (NCL): Program Requirements**"
