A degree in Chicana/o/x Studies provides students with comprehensive abilities and critical thinking skills related to the community's specific needs. Moreover, this field of study cultivates the skills necessary to understand and engage with a complex set of social, political, and economic systems often characterized by institutionalized discrimination. Recipients of the Associate in Arts for Transfer degree are guaranteed admission with junior standing at a campus of the California State University system by completing 60 semester units that are transferable to the California State University, to include: The California Intersegmental General Education Transfer Curriculum (Cal-GETC), a minimum of 18 semester units in a major or area of emphasis, grade \"C\" or better in all courses required for the major and general education, and earn a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0. A “P” (Pass) grade is also an acceptable grade for courses in the major if the course is taken on a Pass/No Pass basis, where a Pass is defined as a “C” or better.\n\n#### Program Learning Outcomes\n\nUpon the successful completion of this program, students should be able to:\n\n1. Demonstrate comparative, intersectional, and relational understanding of the diverse histories, cultures, and contemporary experiences related to the Chicana/o/x community;\n2. analyze institutional, structural, and ideological forces that shape the power and experiences of the Chicana/o/x community;\n3. examine and engage in social change and antiracist movements to build a just and equitable society."
